After completing the BSc. Program Forest and Nature Conservation at Inholland University of Applied Sciences in July 2007, I decided to continue with the MSc. Program International Land- and Watermanagement at Wageningen UR. I chose the specialization Integrated Water Management and focused both during my internship as during my MSc. thesis on the role of (local) knowledge in water management projects (in Indonesia and in The Netherlands). After obtaining my MSc. degree in January 2010, I started working as a junior researcher at Alterra Wageningen UR, where I was involved in the project Delta Alliance. |

I joined ESS-CC in November 2010 as junior researcher. I have been involved in several projects (Building with Nature, EU-China River Basin Management Programme, Klimaatateliers and Climate Proofing EU policies). Also, I supervised BSc and MSc students following the specialization Integrated Water Management.
I started my PhD research in March 2012. I am researching the effectiveness of green adaptation projects in European river basins, thereby focussing on the long term benefits and the incorporation of multiple frames. Besides my PhD research, I am involved in Climate-KIC where I am responsible for the promotion of the PhD programme and organization of the yearly summer school. |
