Ir J.A. (Jeroen) Veraart (1975) holds an MSc degree in Environmental Sciences from Wageningen University (2000) with specialisations in Aquatic Ecology, Water Quality Management and Environmental  Studies. His main interest goes to an integrated approach of environmental issues.   His research aims to develop strategies to monitor environmental impacts on water resources and wetland ecosystems which can be incorporated into watershed based decision-making networks and environmental policy. His work focusses on climate change, integrated water resources management and biodiversity issues.

Since April 2001 Jeroen works at Alterra (Wageningen UR). He is currently involved with the management and the scientific support of the Climate Change and Biosphere Research Programme, the science support office of the Climate changes spatial planning programme (BSIK) and the development of the "Klimaatportaal".




 
He was involved with the International Dialogue on Water and Climate between 2001 and 2003.

From 2000 to 2001 Jeroen Veraart was appointed at the Environmental Systems Analysis group (Wageningen University) to work at an NRP project called Integrated Assessment of the vulnerability and adaptation options for climate change in the Netherlands. He helped with the co-ordination of several educational courses.

Jeroen Veraart is a member of The Albufera International Biodiversity Group (TAIB) and  the Foundation for Sustainable Development (FSD).
